A town close to nature

Island of Ruegen

Germany´s biggest island

The 4,1 kilometre long Ruegen bridge connects Stralsund with Germanys biggest island Ruegen. Nestled in the island’s picturesque landscape are splendid, lively resorts and tranquil villages, as well as endless sandy beaches, enchanted old alleys and rugged cliffs.

Island of Hiddensee

A car-free island

There is no bridge between Stralsund and Hiddensee. But there are ferry connections to the island where cars are not allowed. Three tiny fishing villages are bedded in a breathtaking landscape where visitors can get away from it all!

Fischland-Darss-Zingst

A picture-perfect peninsula

Wild woods, weather-beaten dunes, a red shimmering brick stone lighthouse –  Fischland-Darß-Zingst offers its guests plenty of activities by foot, by bike or on the water. The peninsula is also well known for its arts and galleries.
